Georgian chimney cake brand “Lumier’s” is planning further expansion in Dubai, just two months after opening its first location in the UAE. The company invested around $175,000 in the initial outlet and is now working on adding three more branches in the city.
Co-founder Emil Kurbanov said the launch coincided with regional tensions, which briefly slowed operations for about two weeks. However, he noted that the market quickly recovered and activity resumed at a normal pace. He also said early results in Dubai have been positive, with strong brand recognition among customers familiar with Georgia.
The Dubai concept differs from the Georgian model, offering both sweet and savory products, including sandwiches made with traditional Georgian cornbread. Unlike take-away-only locations in Georgia, the Dubai branch includes a dine-in space with plated service, allowing a more diverse menu.
Alongside UAE expansion, “Lumier’s” is also growing in Turkey, where it operates two branches in Istanbul and is preparing to open a third. The company, founded in 2018 with just 300 GEL in initial investment, continues its international expansion across multiple markets.
