Vano Sturua, head of the restaurant chain Machakhela Group, declared they did not have communication with the state for the recent period. Consequently, they do not know when the restaurant will open.
Head of Machakhela Group has high hopes that the meeting will take place in the coming days and they will be able to start from February 1 in accordance with the announced plan. He declares that partial opening is not enough and restaurants still will not be able to operate.
“We need a full opening and not partial, as restaurants still are not able to operate. It is better to wait for the stabilization and open the sector fully”, - Vano Sturua explains.
According to him, "Machakhela Group" employed about 1,200 people. As of today, the number of employees is reduced to 75.
Vano Sturua says the tax breaks are important for the company, but the bigger incentive for the company is to subsidize loan interest after reviewing applications.
“We are in a waiting mode. In our case, we represent not only Machakhela Group, but also Taglaura, Khinklis Fabrika, - we are one of the big borrowers. We have high hopes that the agency Enterprise Georgia and the banks will complete the application review late in January," - said the head of "Machakhela Group".
