Manavi Wines started exporting its products to Iceland, - Giorgi Aivazian, the founder of the winery, wrote about this on his personal Facebook page.

It should be noted that Iceland is not a very popular destination for the exports of Georgian wine. As of the statistics, imports of minimal volume of natural grape wines were observed from 2021. In 2022, more than 1 ton of wine worth USD 14.7 thousand was exported to Iceland.

Giorgi Aivazian, the founder of Manavi Wine, told BM.GE that Iceland is the first exporting market for the company and they have great hopes for it.

"Two years ago, I founded a company in Manavi that produces natural wine. Until now, our natural wine, which is squeezed from grapes grown in the Manavi microzone, is sold in such wine shops in Georgia as GVino, CoffeLab, Bar Underground.

According to the company, over 1000 bottles of wine were exported from Manavi to Iceland. The founder of the winery notes that Georgian natural wine will be sold in wine shops and bars in Reykjavik within a week.

"We have exported 5 different types of wine, of which 2 types are made according to the European method, while the rest with traditional methods", noted the winemaker.

Manavi Wines was launched 2 years ago in the village of Manavi (Sagarejo municipality) and in 2022 it produced 10,000 bottles of natural wine.
