The Head of Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC), Eduard Hakobyan, held a meeting with a delegation led by Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin. The parties discussed prospects for deepening cooperation in the areas of taxation and customs. Particular attention was given to the implementation of a pilot project introducing navigation seals for goods transported between the two countries.

Eduard Hakobyan highlighted that the project on navigation seals was approved during the December session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Issues. The SRC Chair underscored the importance of drafting an intergovernmental agreement on the use of navigation seals for road transportation, which would enhance the efficiency and transparency of freight transit between Armenia and Russia.

The meeting also addressed challenges at the "Upper Lars" border checkpoint and possible ways to promptly resolve them. This checkpoint remains a critical land connection point between Armenia and Russia.

Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin, while congratulating Hakobyan on his recent appointment, expressed hope for strengthened collaboration between the agencies of the two countries. He also reaffirmed Russia's commitment to continuing programs aimed at improving Russian language proficiency for SRC employees in Armenia.

Both sides emphasized the importance of developing bilateral cooperation, both directly and within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as a means of fostering economic growth in both countries. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reiterated their determination to closely cooperate to achieve common goals in customs and tax administration.
