11 meat and dairy product producers will get equipment worth of USD 440,000 under a project funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, - according to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
"With the support of the United States Department of Agriculture (SQIL), beneficiaries will be provided equipment worth of USD with co-funding to develop their business. Within the framework of this grant, 11 farmers employed in meat and dairy sector will receive co-financing. In total, the SQIL project has issued 36 grants worth USD 930 thousand," – reads the statement.
According to the agency, the 5-year project "Investing in Safe and Quality Livestock - Georgia" is implemented by Land O'Lakes Venture37 in partnership with the Georgian Farmers' Association. The aim of the project is to improve food safety and quality standards in the dairy and meat industries of Georgia.
