The 33rd Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) concluded in Yerevan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, the third day of the conference began with a meeting between the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Hovhannisyan, and a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD). The delegation was led by the French Ambassador to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, and the Deputy Director General of the agency, Bertrand Walckenaer.
The parties discussed the current credit agreement on budget support, prospects for cooperation programs in the water, land, and agricultural sectors, as well as other issues. At the end of the meeting, a contract for 2024-2027 was signed. The memorandum was signed by Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan on behalf of Armenia and by Deputy Director General Bertrand Walckenaer on behalf of the French Development Agency.
Deputy Minister of Finance of Armenia, Eduard Hakobyan, held a meeting with a delegation from the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), discussing issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of infrastructure projects.
The Minister of Finance of the Netherlands, Steven Van Weyenberg, highly praised the organization of the EBRD annual conference, noting its high level.
Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan also held a meeting with a delegation from the United States, led by the U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Alexia Latortue. The parties discussed cooperation in public finance management, public procurement, and other issues.
The EBRD is a leading institutional investor in Armenia, having invested approximately €2.12 billion in 211 projects in the country to date. Ninety-two percent of these investments have been directed to the private sector.
