Secretary General of the Georgian Dream (GD) party, Kakha Kaladze, on Thursday, dubbed the MEPs resolution “shameful” as its authors demand that “a person who has contributed unparalleled philanthropy in the country be sanctioned, while also calling for the revocation of the legislation outlawing LGBT propaganda.”
“The authors of the shameful resolution demanded the sanctioning of Bidzina Ivanishvili [GD founder] – the person who saved this country from a gang of agent criminals at the cost of his life.
The MEPs demand the sanctioning of the person who saved the nation’s culture and spirituality with his unprecedented charity and laid the foundation for such a democracy in Georgia, where human rights and freedoms are protected at the highest level.
With a shameful resolution, the European parliamentarians call us to withdraw the law that prohibits LGBT propaganda. To put it another way, we were instructed directly that we should give a wide arena to the propagation of non-traditional sexual orientation, its spread, and popularization, which poses a direct threat to our future generations.
I’d want to point out that the rights of all people are protected in this country, regardless of religion, gender, orientation, and so on. Of course, we are not interested in anyone’s personal life, we are not going to judge anyone. Everyone has their personal life and anyone can live as they want, but propaganda is categorically unacceptable”, Kaladze added.
