Migration Department Expelled 97 Foreign Nationals From Georgia In March

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports, that employees of the Migration Department expelled 97 foreign nationals from Georgia in March. The agency reports that the Migration Department, in close coordination with other units of the ministry, effectively ensures the fight against illegal migration within the country. Specifically, 97 foreign citizens of various nationalities were expelled last month.

"Some of the foreign nationals left Georgia voluntarily, while others were forcibly expelled as a result of measures carried out by the Migration Department. The expelled individuals have been banned from re-entering the country in accordance with the law.

Among those expelled were citizens of India, Belarus, China, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Bangladesh, the United States, Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Cameroon, Jordan, and Kyrgyzstan—a total of 97 individuals.

The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its key functions is identifying foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal grounds and carrying out their expulsion," the statement reads.
