Georgia’s registration with the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) has been restored, Education Minister Givi Mikanadze said. He called it an important achievement of the country’s higher education reform.
An independent expert commission reviewed the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and concluded that its activities fully comply with European standards. The findings were published by the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR)in June.
Based on the assessment, the National Center applied to EQAR to restore its registration, which was approved. Mikanadze said the decision confirms that Georgia’s education reforms are moving in the right direction.
He added that the restoration of EQAR status demonstrates the National Center’s compliance with European standards and supports Georgia’s integration into the European higher education quality assurance system.
