Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has appointed Mikheil Khidureli as the new head of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Agency, which is now under the government administration. The appointment was formalized through an official order signed on Monday.

At the same time, the government has submitted a bill to parliament that will abolish the PPP Agency in its current form. Under the proposed changes, the agency will be transferred to the Ministry of Economy and restructured into a new entity called the “Investment and Export” Agency, with parliament already reviewing the amendments.

Khidureli attended the expedited parliamentary discussion of the bill, although his appointment was not explicitly mentioned during the session. According to the reform plan, functions related to investment and export promotion will be separated from “Enterprise Georgia” and consolidated under the new agency.

Khidureli said the restructuring aims to strengthen focus on attracting investment and boosting exports, with a dedicated structure allowing greater efficiency. He also noted that a full presentation outlining a 3–4 year strategy will be introduced after the legal changes are completed, with an expected budget of 16.7 million GEL and the transfer of 19 employees to the new agency.
