By April 2018, dollarization has been significantly reduced – stated Dimitri Kumsishvili, Minister of Economy of Georgia, at the briefing, where he talked about April economic growth rate and other issues.
According to Kumsishvili, despite reduction of dollarization, this issue still remains an important challenge. At the briefing he also mentioned specific rates.
“Dollarization of deposits has reduced from 70% to 62%, i.e., their larization increased from 29% to 37%. Larization of loans increased from 34% to 44%. We have pretty good achievements in the part of dollarization of physical persons, which since 2017 has reduced from 58% to 43%,” – state Kumsishvili.
According to the Minister, inclusive growth, i.e. even distribution of wealth, still remains one of the biggest challenge in terms of equal urban and rural development.
