According to the Ministry of Education, 70.7% of teachers and school administration staff in Georgia have been vaccinated.
However, due to the risk of spreading the virus, 169 schools and 438 individual classes across the country are in distance learning.
"The situation is stable in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 virus in secondary schools. In the last seven days, coronavirus has been detected in 0.9% of teachers and 0.3% of students, which is a decrease compared to the previous week.
70.7% of teachers and school administration representatives have been vaccinated at this stage.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is actively working in various directions to prevent the Covid-19 virus in schools. Teacher testing on Covid-19 is also underway. Schools are fully equipped with the resources needed to prevent pandemics.
General education institutions ensure compliance with health care recommendations and create a safe environment. This process is monitored by representatives of educational resource centers and the Ministry.
"The Ministry of Education and Science once again calls on the whole school community to follow the recommendations of the healthcare sector as much as possible and to be actively involved in the vaccination process," the statement reads.
