New regulations for clinics come into force from January 1, 2021. The relevant normative act defines new conditions for the hospitals to bring their infrastructure, material-technical side or human resources in line with the new standards.
The clinics say it will be difficult to take a new financial commitment amid pandemic, so they are appealing to the government to postpone the changes until January 1, 2022.
General Director of Tbilisi Heart Center told bm.ge, the Ministry of Health did not listen to their request and there was no communication with them on that issue.
"New regulations will be introduced from January 1, which mainly concern cardiology, cardiac surgery, resuscitation, which requires large investments on our part. Clinics are already in a difficult situation due to the second wave of pandemics and it will be very difficult to make new financial commitments.
We appealed to the PM and the Minister of Health several times, but unfortunately the Ministry of Health unequivocally refused and did not listen to our request. In other words, we are abandoned both for fighting the coronavirus and adopting those regulations,” said Archil Chukhrukidze.
