Company Mkisa is expanding its almond and blueberry orchards. Tako Akhvlediani, the head of marketing of the company, told bm.ge about this. According to her, at the same time, the implementation of digital technologies in the direction of garden care and management is actively carried out.
"During 2022, we planted an additional 30 hectares of almonds in the territory of Bolnisi, therefore a total of 40 hectares have already been planted. Also in Western Georgia, in Khobi and Tskaltubo, land is being prepared for planting blueberry seedlings. The irrigation system and the infrastructure are already ready and we are waiting for the season to actively start planting our blueberry seedlings.
Mkisa introduces digital technologies in the field of Georgian agriculture. With the help of our automatic irrigation system and weather station, we also measure rainfall, wind speed, plant condition and other important data. Now we have introduced a special application, with the help of which we can find out about expected diseases or pests in advance and take preventive measures," says the head of marketing of Mkisa.
Mkisa has been operating in the direction of agriculture for half a year and at the moment it is working in several regions of Georgia (Bolnisi, Khobi and Tskaltubo). The company's investment is more than GEL 13,000,000 and regularly employs 21, and seasonally more than 280 people.
