The cost of mobile internet has decreased in Georgia - it is clear from the report of the Communications Commission. As of February 2021, the average cost of one gigabyte of the internet on the market is 0.80 GEL, which is 45% less than the price in the same period of 2020 - 1.45 GEL.

With the reduction of tariffs, the number of subscribers who use 4G services is growing in the market. Currently, mobile internet is consumed by 2.9 million subscribers, which is 7% more than in 2020. In total, 58% of active SIM cards in Georgia use mobile internet.

The volume of internet consumed has increased even more. If in February 2020 subscribers consumed 10.3 petabytes of mobile internet, in February 2021 this figure increased by 90% and became 19.5 petabytes.

Mobile internet consumption per subscriber has also increased and averaged 7.2 GB, which is 78% more than in February 2020.

As for the revenues of mobile operators themselves - in February they received 37.8 million GEL from customers, which is 2.5% less than in the same period in 2020. This decrease is mainly due to the decrease in active SIM cards or active numbers. If in February 2020 the number of subscribers of Georgian operators was 4.99 million, in February 2021 the number of subscribers was 4.88 million.
