About 150,000 people in Georgia have been vaccinated with the four-component seasonal flu vaccine, the Ministry of Health reports.
The French-made vaccine, purchased by the Ministry, is available free of charge for citizens.
Currently, the A/H3N2 virus dominates across all regions, although other seasonal respiratory infections, including rhinoviruses, parainfluenza, and respiratory syncytial virus, have also been recorded.
Vaccination is recommended for everyone, particularly risk groups: pregnant women, the elderly, children over six months, people with immunosuppression, and individuals with chronic diseases.
Preventive measures, such as frequent hand washing, ventilating indoor spaces, and avoiding large gatherings when experiencing symptoms, remain important. According to the Ministry, the epidemiological situation is manageable, and the healthcare system is fully prepared to provide timely services during the peak of the season.
