Most Important Political And Economic Partner Countries Of Georgia - IRI Survey

According to the public opinion poll published by the International Republican Institute (IRI), the largest part of respondents consider the EU and the USA to be important political and economic partners for Georgia.

In particular, to the question - “Which of the mentioned countries do you consider to be the most important political partners for Georgia?” - results look like this:

European Union - 51%

USA - 32%

Azerbaijan - 19%

Ukraine - 17%

Turkey - 16%

Armenia - 9%

Russia - 9%

Great Britain - 9%

Israel - 7%

China - 6%

Iran - 1%

None - 8%

I don't know - 8%

“Which of the mentioned countries do you consider to be the most important economic partner for Georgia?”

European Union - 43%

USA - 31%

Turkey - 28%

Azerbaijan - 24%

Russia - 16%

China - 12%

Ukraine - 12%

Armenia - 8%

Israel - 5%

Great Britain - 5%

None - 5%

“Do you support or oppose further dialogue with Russia?

33% of respondents fully support, 24% somewhat support, 7% somewhat oppose, 33% strongly oppose, 5% don't know/refuse to answer.

The respondents to the mentioned question were distributed as follows: the 56+ age group represents the highest number of 41% who fully support the dialogue with Russia. The highest number, 44%, who are strongly opposed is in the 18-35 age group. 36% of men and 30% of women fully support dialogue with Russia. The most objections, 40%, represent urban settlements.
