“I would like to thank my representatives who withstood all kinds of psychological, moral pressure and insults, in the face of absurd accusations and non-existent evidence, they decently defended the Institute of the President,” wrote Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on a social network, responding to today’s proceedings in the Constitutional Court on the impeachment issue.
The Constitutional Court initiated the substantive review of the constitutional lawsuit against the Georgian President today.
Maia Kopaleishvili, a former Constitutional Court judge, and Tamar Chugoshvili, an ex-First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, represented the president in the impeachment proceedings before the Court.
The hearing will resume at 11 a.m. today.
