Vehicle sales in Georgia has drop by around 30% due to the pandemic crisis. The dealers are not having any positive expectations from 2021. Meanwhile, Myauto.ge, the largest car sales online platform in Georgia has launched various remote services during the pandemic, in order to transform the Covid-19 challenge into an opportunity.
“It is very difficult to make any positive predictions for 2021 due to the current situation. Overall sales of vehicles in Georgia is reduced by around 30%. We hope that car sales will better perform in 2021, however, full recovery and return to the pre-pandemic situation will be connected with quite big challenges,” Ilia Mchedlishvili Project Manager at Myauto, told BM.GE.
During the pandemic, the whole team of Myauto has agreed upon transforming this Covid-19 challenge into an opportunity. The management started thinking about completely remote products and launched a remote service that allows checking the history of the vehicle from the website via VIN code.
“At the same time we launched the first accomplished Georgian auto auction. One of the main advantages of the product, along with its simplicity, is that all the vehicles placed here are in Georgia, the customer no longer has to wait for many months and take into account the transportation risks that accompany the purchase of a vehicle at international auctions. Moreover, those interested will be able to physically view the lot and, with the exact information posted on the website, see the desired property up-close and personal. About 70% of uploaded vehicles
were immediately sold after launch of auction. We think this project will greatly simplify the process of buying and selling cars and Myauto will once again change the rules of the industry,” said Mchedlishvili.
In order to make the process of finding a new car easier for customers, this year Myauto has also created a special module for car showrooms, where customers can handily browse new cars, get aware about special offers of auto centers, installment or lease terms, warranty service details and make appointment for test drive.
