According to her latest asset declaration, Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), and her husband, David Veshapidze, are keeping over USD 500,000 in cash - along with EUR 50,000 and GEL 90,000 in the bank's safe.
In 2024, Turnava received a salary of GEL 349,039 for her role as Acting President of the NBG, a significant increase from the GEL 183,424 she earned in 2023. That year, she served as a Council Member at the NBG from January to June and as Acting President from July onward. Her 2024 salary also surpasses the GEL 214,518 received by her predecessor, Koba Gvenetadze, in 2022.
However, salary was not the largest component of her income. Turnava also reported GEL 1,012,612 in revenue from the sale of a 15% stake in the Medical and Preventive Center. Her husband earned an additional USD 140,000 from selling real estate.
David Veshapidze is listed as an advisor to the director at Rustavi Azoti, where he earned GEL 59,000 in 2024.
Significant Real Estate Holdings
The declaration also outlines extensive real estate assets owned by Turnava and her husband:
- A 261 sq.m. plot in Zemo Vake, purchased in 2024 for USD 252,000
- A 600 sq.m. plot in Bakuriani and a 50% stake in a 200 sq.m. house there, purchased for GEL 123,710
- A 1,615 sq.m. plot in Arashenda, Mtskheta District
- A 130 sq.m. apartment on Chavchavadze Avenue in Tbilisi
- A 380 sq.m. plot and house under construction on Zemo Vake Lane
Meanwhile, her husband owns two large land plots—33,006 sq.m. and 249,951 sq.m.—in the village of Heretiskari, located in the Lagodekhi municipality.

In addition to the cash held in a bank safe, Turnava maintains EUR 100,000 in a bank deposit. She also reported annual loan payments totaling:
