The National Bank of Georgia has fined Terabank. According to the decision published on August 10, the commercial bank was fined 5,000 GEL.
The reasoning behind the fine stems from a failure regarding one client to perform ongoing monitoring of the business relationship, as well as an inadequate investigation into the origin of transactions, activities, property, and monetary funds in accordance with legislation and internal policy/procedures.
This marks the third instance of a commercial bank being fined this year. Previously, "Credo Bank" was fined 60,000 GEL, while "TBC Bank" was fined 250,000 GEL. In 2025, the NBG fined four commercial banks.
