National Competition Agency plans to introduce new standards for influencers

The Georgian National Competition Agency plans to introduce new standards for influencers who upload videos containing adverts.

The new rules will require influencers to disclose when a post or video is sponsored or paid for by a brand.

The agency states that the new guidelines will align with European experience.

“No additional legislative regulation is planned to be introduced. The existing legislation on consumer protection fully covers the issue,” the agency added.
