During the 2026 Unified National Examinations, ensuring security at exam centers and the transportation of completed exam papers will be carried out by the Police Protection Department under a contract worth 985,345 GEL.
The service was procured through a simplified tender by the National Assessment and Examinations Center. According to the agreement, armed police officers will maintain public order and safety at exam centers, escort examination materials after completion, and deliver them to the National Assessment Center, as these documents are considered highly confidential.
The procurement breakdown includes salaries for personnel (273,683 GEL), food provision for staff (344,841 GEL), fuel costs for transportation and escorts (37,235 GEL), travel expenses (7,150 GEL), profit margin (73,594 GEL), and taxes including VAT and a 10% budget contribution (248,842 GEL). In total, the service will cost the state budget 985,345 GEL.
The 2026 national exams will begin in July, with the exact schedule yet to be announced. This year, more than 43,000 students have registered for the exams, approximately 4,000 more than last year.
