The National Medicine Quality Control Lab will be set up in Georgia to reduce the risk of counterfeiting, Ekaterine Tikaradze announced on Sunday while presenting the annual report.
According to the former Minister, the lab will open by the end of 2022.
In addition, in 2020, the first GMP and GDP certifications were issued. From 2022, compliance with GMP and GDP standards will become mandatory for pharmaceutical companies and distributors. 15 institutions have already applied to the Agency for GMP / GDP certifications.
