“The fourth visit of the NATO Military Committee to Georgia is the reconfirmation of NATO’s unwavering support to Georgia. NATO and Georgia are linked by the unique partnership that strengthens by time,” said Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, following the meeting with Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze.
According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee underlined that the partnership had always been mutually beneficial. He noted that Georgia is the largest contributor among the non-member states to the NATO-led peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
Admiral Rob Bauer added NATO-Georgia cooperation intensified in marine, air, and land fields as well as cyber security direction. He stressed NATO would continue to support Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The NATO Military Committee delegation visited the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) and positively evaluated the training infrastructure and systems.
NATO Military Committee representatives arrived in Georgia on October 7 to discuss Georgia’s security challenges, NATO-Georgia cooperation prospects, and enhancement of the Black Sea security policy with Georgian PM, military officials.
