The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia conducted a survey on the earnings of food delivery workers, revealing that most earn above the minimum wage.
According to the survey, only 5.5% of respondents earn less than the minimum wage, which is 75,000 drams (about $195). Around a quarter of the respondents (22.5%) reported earning between 75,000 and 150,000 drams ($195-$390).
The largest group of respondents—41%—indicated that their monthly income ranges from 150,000 to 350,000 drams ($390-$905), which is significantly higher than the national average wage.
Notably, 17% of delivery workers earn between 350,000 and 500,000 drams ($905-$1,290), and 7% earn between 500,000 and 750,000 drams ($1,290-$1,940). A small percentage (1.5%) even reported earnings of 750,000 to 1 million drams ($1,940-$2,580).
It is important to note that these figures represent actual income after taxes, rather than official salaries. Additionally, 5.8% of participants declined to disclose their earnings.
Earlier, BMG reported that in June 2024, the average monthly salary in Armenia was 275,654 drams (approximately $705), reflecting a 3% increase compared to June 2023.
