Kakheti-based winery “Nekresi Estate” has announced that it does not plan to expand its wine production, instead strengthening its strategic focus on hospitality services.
Founder Otar Tabatadze explained in an interview with BM.GE that expanding production would require disproportionately high costs at this stage.
“We have decided not to increase productivity. We believe that this would be an unjustified expense, because a fairly large budget is needed for export marketing, especially for participation in world expos, where there are at least 5-6 exhibitions, plus warehouses, logistics, and other costs,” Tabatadze noted.
Currently, "Nekresi Estate" produces around 50,000 bottles of wine annually, including regular wine, sparkling varieties, and a small line of distilled products. Instead of pursuing higher output, the company plans to strengthen its winery-hotel-restaurant model, emphasizing tourism and hospitality.
Situated in the heart of Kakheti, "Nekresi Estate" combines wine production with accommodation and dining facilities, positioning itself as a boutique destination for both local and international visitors.
