Nenskra Hydro held a meeting with local community members in the villages of Chuberi and Nakra in the Mestia Municipality. The purpose of the meeting was to offer the local communities opportunities for business development. JSC Nensrka Hydro developed a special investment project called the “Community Development Programme”. The aim of the project is to create suitable conditions for the local communities that will contribute to the development of small and medium scale enterprises.
As stated by the representative of Nenskra Hydro supporting the development of local SME’s is one of the key components of the Nenskra HPP project’s social responsibility.
It is worth noting that the Government of Georgia, NGOs and the private sector as well as the representative of international projects have an active involvement working together with Nenskra.
“The aim of the meeting was to introduce local communities to the corporate social responsibility strategy of the projects. This meeting is important because it features both the presentation of the projects, conducted together by the government, the private sector, the donors and NGOs, and illustrates the opportunities that these programmes offer to local communities” – states the Advisor of Prime Minister of Georgia in Regional Development Issues, Sozar Subari.
