New international airport will be built in Tbilisi that will serve as a world-class transportation center - PM

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday told the opening event of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, that a new international airport will be built in Tbilisi that will serve as a world class transportation center.

"To support Georgia’s position as a hub for trade and logistics, the government also invests in constructing the East West Highway and the Baku-Tbilisii-Kars new railway line, both to be completed at the end of 2024. My government is also improving air connectivity by building a new international airport in Tbilisi that will serve as a world class transportation center, cementing Georgia’s status as a prominent player in global aviation", - PM said.

Tbilisi hosts the Silk Road Forum for the fourth time, featuring more than 2,000 delegates and guests from 60 countries. The event includes ten thematic panel sessions and parallel discussions on crucial trade, economic, and connectivity topics.
