The British oil production company, Block Energy, which produces oil and natural gas from the Patardzeuli, Norio and Satskhenisi fields, has discovered new oil reserves near Patardzeuli, in the southwest, - according to the press release published by the company. Block Energy is placed on the London Stock Exchange.
As it turns out, compared to another well in Patardzeuli, JSR-01, the latest well is 470 meters deeper - moreover, it was drilled at a certain angle, which allowed the company to study different layers. Patardzeuli field was purchased by Block Energy in 2020, but oil was extracted here even during the Soviet Union - in 1975-1985, 98 million barrels were extracted here.
Block Energy was studying the prospect of oil extraction from the mentioned well until the end of October - at the last check, the daily production of the well was 45 barrels.
