A new local brand, Golden Ball, has entered Georgia’s sports equipment market, founded by 15-year-old former footballer Luka Kakalashvili. Seeing a gap created by the rising popularity of football and the limited availability of affordable, high-quality gear, Luka decided to launch a brand offering football boots, balls, and accessories at accessible prices.

Golden Ball products range between 85 and 100 GEL, with competitive pricing made possible through direct cooperation with a manufacturing partner in China. Luka says the idea was born from his deep love for football and the desire to give young Georgian players access to quality equipment without paying high prices. His age, he notes, helps him better understand the preferences and tastes of his peers - one of the brand’s core target groups.

According to the founder, the growing interest in football is driving demand for gear, motivating the startup to expand its product range and build a stronger presence in the market. Luka also highlights the strength of working alongside his father: while his father manages operations and logistics, Luka leads product selection and digital marketing.

Looking ahead, Golden Ball aims to fully establish itself in the Georgian market over the next 3–5 years. Luka encourages other young people with business ideas not to fear failure - believing that determination and passion can turn even a small initial investment into a real enterprise. Golden Ball products are available through the brand’s official Facebook page.
