Chairman of the Government of Adjara Sulkhan Tamazashvili recently reviewed several ongoing infrastructure projects in mountainous Adjara, as part of the region’s continued development efforts. The Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara released detailed updates on the initiatives.

One of the key projects includes the construction of a new public school in the village of Danisparauli, located in the Khulo municipality. The modern educational facility will accommodate 120 students and come fully equipped with necessary school furniture and resources. The project will also feature an open sports field, promoting physical activity alongside academic learning.

Progress is also being made on the gasification of mountainous Adjara, with the project now in its final stage. Currently, a 7-kilometer section of the central gas main is under construction on the Riketi-Zarzmi stretch. The first stage of the project, already completed, enables gas supply to around 12,000 subscribers. Upon the completion of the second stage, an additional 15,200 households will gain access to natural gas.

Meanwhile, infrastructure at the Goderdzi resort is also being enhanced. A three-story administrative building has been completed, which will host several key institutions, including:

  • Goderdzi Resort LLC
  • Resort Development Agency
  • Patrol Police
  • Emergency Situations Coordination and Emergency Management Center

According to the Adjara Government, large-scale regional development remains a strategic priority, with continued investments aimed at improving education, energy access, and tourism infrastructure in the region.
