A new traffic scheme has been introduced around City Mall Saburtalo in Tbilisi, the Transport and Urban Development Agency said.
According to the agency, the changes are aimed at organizing and separating traffic flows, reducing conflicting maneuvers, and improving pedestrian and road safety. Relevant services are monitoring traffic flows following the launch of the new scheme.
Drivers approaching from Delisi Metro Station can turn left at the first junction in front of the shopping center to reach either Kavtaradze Street or Kazbegi Avenue. Vehicles coming from Vazha-Pshavela Metro Station can also use the entrance to access Kavtaradze Street, while Kazbegi Avenue can be reached from the entrance in front of City Mall.
A dedicated public transport lane has also been introduced on Vazha-Pshavela Avenue between Tavkhelidze Street and City Mall. Two traffic lanes in each direction have been maintained, while signal-controlled pedestrian crossings connected to public transport stops have been installed at the junction.
