A new accommodation facility, “Hatsvali Cottages,” has opened near the Zuruldi cable car in Mestia, at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. The project includes 10 premium-class cottages, which were completed in spring and are already welcoming visitors.
According to founder Beka Kanchveli, the investment cost for each cottage was around $70,000, bringing the total project investment to approximately $700,000. Each 100-square-meter cottage can accommodate up to six guests and includes two bedrooms with private bathrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and two balconies.
The facility is already attracting both Georgian and international visitors, with demand particularly increasing from Chinese tourists. Kanchveli expects occupancy during the current season to reach 80-90%. Accommodation prices vary depending on the number of guests, ranging from GEL 270-300 for two people to around GEL 400 for a fully booked cottage.
The founder says further development of tourism infrastructure in Svaneti remains essential, especially for the winter season. He highlighted the need for additional ski routes and longer cable car operating hours to improve the region’s attractiveness. Future plans for “Hatsvali Cottages” include expanding the site with an outdoor swimming pool and recreational areas.
