Employees of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, during the period of November of the current year, exposed 11 cases of transportation of especially large amount of excisable goods without excise marks and arrested 4 persons.
As a result of investigative activities, 17 300 packages of non-excise cigarettes prepared for realization were seized from persons involved in crime from Tbilisi, Samegrelo, Imereti, Adjara and Kvemo Kartli regions.
The total market value of ceased non-excised cigarettes exceeds GEL 68 000. Investigation is underway under the first, second and third parts of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years of.
