The share of non-performing loans is down in banks, - according to the report published by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
As of October 2021, the share of non-performing loans amounts to 5.9% of the total loans, which is 0.2 percentage points less compared to the previous month, while less by 2/6 percentage point compared to the peak observed in March.
Loans of GEL 41.7 billion are issued in the banking system, respectively, the total volume of non-performing loans is GEL 2.4 billion.
The share of non-performing loans totals to 7.4% in the real estate and construction sectors, while their share equals to 3.8% in the mortgage loans.
According to the National Bank methodology, non-performing loans are loans that are classified as substandard, doubtful and loss.
