The share of non-resident travelers on Ambrolauri flights rose to 10% in 2025, reflecting growing recognition of the destination, according to Irina Mgebrishvili, Financial and Administrative Manager at AK-Air Georgia. She noted that foreign passenger numbers have traditionally been high on routes to Svaneti.

On flights to Mestia, non-residents make up 60% of travelers, and with the start of the ski season in January, their share increased to 75%.

"On Svaneti flights, 60% of passengers are non-residents, 40% are residents. In the January schedule, about 75% are non-residents, as the ski season has already started and is going well.

Regarding Ambrolauri, it is noteworthy that non-resident travelers are now making a significant presence as well. In 2025, about 10% of travelers on this route were non-residents, compared to less than 1% in previous years, which is very positive. Ambrolauri’s recognition is growing," Mgebrishvili said.

She also highlighted trends on other routes: Batumi traditionally sees 60% non-residents and 40% residents, while during the summer, the ratio flips to 80% residents and 20% non-residents due to the beach season. The Kutaisi–Mestia route is dominated by non-residents, accounting for 99% of passengers.
