The National Bank of Georgia submitted its report for 2023 to the Parliament. According to the document, along with the expansion of the supervisory board and customer protection services at the National Bank, the number of people employed in it is also increasing. As of December 31, 2022, 538 people worked at the NBG, while their number increased to 601 by December 31, 2023.
Along with the increase in the number of employees, the salary fund of the National Bank also increased last year. If in 2022, the staff cost had been 30.4 million GEL, the figure stood at 40.9 million GEL in 2023, which was an increase of 10.5 million or 34%.
In addition, other benefits provided to employees, including paid leave, amounted to 3.1 million GEL, therefore, the total staff cost last year was 44.1 million GEL, and in 2022 this figure was 33 million GEL.
Accordingly, if in 2022 the average salary expense per employee in the National Bank stood at GEL 61 thousand, in 2023 it increased to GEL 73 thousand.
