In 3Q2023 the number of Georgian resident travellers’ trips abroad equaled 819.9 thousand, which was 18.2% higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year, - according to the National Statistics Office Of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, most of the trips, 45.4% were made by travellers of 31-50 age group. The number of outbound visits by Georgian visitors from above-mentioned number made up 647.2 thousand, which is 21.7% higher compared to the data from the same period of 2022.
As of the Geostat, the majority of outbound visits, 48.1% were made by the visitors of 31-50 age group. The number of visits made by women equaled to 48.2% of the total number of visits.
In 3Q2023 the purpose of the majority of outbound visits (33.4 percent) was shopping. The majority of outbound visits were made in Turkey and Armenia, 279.5 thousand and 107.6 thousand respectively.
In 3Q2023 the average number of nights spent during the visits equaled to 7.2 nights, which is 13.4 percent higher than the figure indicated in III quarter of 2022 (6.3 nights).
The expenditures during the visits made in 3Q2023 equaled to GEL 592.4 million, which is 7.1 percent higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year. Average expenditure on the visit decreased by 12.0 percent compared to 3Q2022 and amounted to GEL 915.3.
