The total number of persons receiving a social package in Georgia made up 174 612 in 2020, up from 171 712 as compared to the prior year. The figure was the highest since 2012.
Among the persons receiving social package during 2020, 72.5 percent were persons with disabilities, 12.6 percent were survivor's persons, 8.6 present were war participants, 5.7 percent - state compensation receivers, and 0.3 percent – others, reads the recent annual report of National Statistics Office of Georgia.
In 2020, the number of families registered in the database of social programs amounted to 330 943 while the number of families receiving subsistence allowance - 146 619.
The highest number of registered families was registered in Tbilisi - amounted to 63.1 thousands, while the number of household allowance recipients was 32.7 thousands.
GeoStat records the number of social package receivers since 2012. According to that data, 2020 has shown the largest number of beneficiaries. In particular, the number in 2012 was -174 104, in 2013 - 170 336, in 2014 - 168 930, in 2015-167 226, in 2016-167 144, in 2017-166 046, in 2018- 165 012, in 2019 -171 712 and in 2020 - 174 612.
