Employment portal HR.GE declares, that labor market got active in the last months and 34% more vacancies was published in February compared to January. Job post number still grew in March and the increase made up 38% compared to February.
As Inga Shakhbaziani, the regional manager of HR.GE declares, rates of Q1, 2021 lags behind by 15% with the same period of 2019. 70% of jobs posts accounts for Tbilisi, the rest of the vacancies are distributed on all regions.
“We have quite positive changes since January 2021. There is an increase m-o-m and the growth ranges from 34% to 38%. March was active. There is a little decline in April and it amounts to 10%. But we predict that over 4,000 job posts will be published. Passive April is due to the expected COVID-related restrictions. Companies are reluctant and say that if the restrictions are not added, then they will announce new vacancies. We expect growth trend to continue from the second half of May.
We have not yet returned to the pre-pandemic level; the decline still mounts to 15%. As for the active sectors, all companies have revived from January, especially sales and IT direction, as well as HORECA sector, manufacturing, finance, trade facilities. The only sector, which has not yet announced vacancies is the tourism sector.
Before the pandemic, 50% of job posts accounted for Tbilisi and the half – for the regions. Now, sharp decline is revealed in the region and Tbilisi share is grown up to 70%. Batumi's HORECA sector is more or less active, which is probably related with the coming summer season," Shakhbaziani told Business Morning.
According to the regional manager of HR.GE, the number of job seekers is also increased. Over 200 job seekers are registered on the employment portal in a day.
