Baia Salukvadze, founder of GPR Nuts declares that the current year is exceptionally difficult for nut growers due to the low quality of the nuts.
"We have an exceptionally difficult year due to the low quality of nuts. We are especially trying to find new markets that are more compatible with the quality of our harvest, so that not to decrease the sales and increase exports," said Baia Salukvadze.
New markets include African and Asian countries.
"GPR Nuts products are already exported, although in small quantities. That's why we want to diversify our sales," says Baia Salukvadze.
GPR Nuts processes about 2500 tons of nut kernels every year and exports them to different countries of the world.
In 2023, according to the data of the first eight months, the largest buyer of Georgian nuts is Italy, followed by Germany and Spain.
