Company Nutrimax will launch the production of food for cats and dogs in the spring of this year. Beka Bekaia, managing partner of the company, told BM.GE.
Nutrimax was planning to open a dog and cat food factory in the village of Gamarjveba in the fall of 2022, with an investment of more than 3 million EUR, but due to some difficulties, this process was delayed. Beka Bekaia explains this with logistical problems and delays in the transportation of production lines.
"The enterprise will be put into operation in test mode from February and its capacity will be 2,000 tons of pet food per month. As a result, the company will create up to 20 working places in addition," said Bekaia, adding that the company currently employs 120 people.
Nutrimax animal feed, which is produced for livestock, is currently exported to Armenia and Azerbaijan. After launching the new enterprise, the company will expand its export markets.
"After starting production, the company plans to expand export markets and sell new products in the direction of Central Asia and Africa. Works are already underway with Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan," the managing partner of the company told BM.GE.
