The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the European Union will explore additional measures to pressure the Georgian government to halt violence against protesters and cease oppression of opposition groups.
“About Georgia, of course, we will consider what more can we do to really pressure the government not to use violence against the protesters, not to use and oppress the opposition and send very strong signals from the European Union. On Monday we discussed and didn’t achieve agreement on the sanctions part, but we need to work with that further,” the High Representative declared.
