As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of fraudulent misappropriation of a large amount of land plots, in a group, through the manufacturing and use of forged documents.
Investigation determined that the accused person, along with other persons being in a criminal connection, illegally acquired state owned three land plots located nearby the Tbilisi Sea, having an area of 3 800 m2, by using false acceptance-delivery acts of land plots. The market value of the land exceeds GEL 250 000.
In addition, relevant measures are being actively carried out in order to examine the legality of the registration of other land plots and to identify and expose the perpetrators.
Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
