As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained one person on the fact of selling forged currency, in large quantities.
Investigation determined, that the accused person, in order to receive illegal material benefit, sold forged banknotes, in large quantities in Tbilisi. As a result of investigative activities 202 pieces of forged USD 100 banknotes and 1 piece of forged USD 50 banknote were seized, with total amount of USD 20 250.
Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
