After withdrawing the agents bills, now the task is to overcome polarization, restore trust and implement reforms with complete conviction - it is necessary not to waste any more time, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said at a briefing after meeting with the Georgian Foreign Minister.

As the Minister noted, listening is an integral part of the implementation of democracy, even when opinions differ radically from each other, including in society.

"It is not always easy to follow the path of integration into the European Union. Over the past years and decades, we have seen in some countries that reforms are necessary. And of course, efforts by the European Union. This path cannot be shortened. Especially in terms of values. We are very happy that we have made significant progress, especially in terms of fulfilling the 12 priorities. This is an important task for all of us. Joint work is essential. In the accession process, the rule of law and the fulfillment of democratic standards are necessary. An integral part of the implementation of democracy is to listen, even when opinions differ radically from each other, including in society. Therefore, after withdrawing the agents bills, now the task is to overcome polarization, restore trust and implement reforms with complete conviction. It is necessary to carry out reforms in this country so that Georgia can join the European Union. Only the Government of Georgia cannot become a member of the European Union without civil society and vice versa. We want to contribute to this matter, to strengthen it. This is the driving force of the European Union. The European Union is characterized by different members, this is not a weakness, but a strength.

It is necessary not to waste any more time. This is a moment in history when we should not retreat", the Minister noted.
