ONWAY Raises Logistics Tariffs by 10% Amid Global Conflict

Logistics company ONWAY has increased its tariffs by approximately 10% due to ongoing global conflicts. The company’s founder, Tamuna Gogolashvili, told BMGTV’s “Women’s Narrative” that the rise is primarily linked to higher fuel costs, which directly affect the low-margin logistics sector.

“We aimed to keep the increase minimal, around 50 tetri on average, so the company could offset higher expenses while keeping the impact on customers manageable,” Gogolashvili said. She added that the adjustment takes effect in April and represents the third tariff change in the company’s history, prompted by the unstable international environment. She warned that further increases could occur if the conflict intensifies.

The founder noted that the price rise could have long-term effects on both logistics and the broader market, including online retailers and consumers. “Higher costs can reduce sales as customers become more selective, but we are closely monitoring the process,” she explained.

Regarding labor, Gogolashvili stated that ONWAY employs around 300 people, mostly Georgians, and that recent restrictions on foreign workers do not directly impact operations but may increase competition in the long run. Looking ahead, the company plans to introduce 3PL services to help partner companies manage warehousing and distribution, including international shipping from Georgia to global markets.
