Georgia’s economy has demonstrated notable resilience and stability, although it continues to face pressure stemming from global challenges, National Bank of Georgia President Natia Turnava said at a meeting of central bank governors from the region.

Turnava said Georgia’s international reserves had reached a historic high, strengthening the country’s ability to withstand external shocks and maintain macroeconomic stability. However, she noted that global economic challenges continue to affect the economy.

The meeting was organized by the National Bank of Georgia and J.P. Morgan. According to Turnava, J.P. Morgan holds meetings in this format across different continents, with Tbilisi hosting the first such event in the region.

Around 15 central banks, international development organizations and financial-sector representatives are participating in the forum. Turnava said the meeting provides an opportunity to exchange views on challenges shaping regional economies, learn from one another and strengthen institutional ties.
