GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed optimism about Georgia’s economic performance in 2025, stating that the government is committed to stimulating growth and improving the population’s social conditions.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze emphasized that Georgia is on track to surpass the International Monetary Fund’s latest economic forecast. “It was important for us to maintain a high rate of economic growth this year, and we’re seeing exactly that. The IMF raised its annual growth forecast to 7.2%, and our results for the first five months of the year are already exceeding that figure,” he said.
According to the GD Prime Minister, the government’s objective is to close the year with growth even higher than projected by the IMF.
“Our aim is to outperform this forecast by year-end. All efforts are being directed toward stimulating economic growth. This is key not only for improving the social wellbeing of our citizens but also for strengthening our political system and further consolidating Georgia’s international standing,” Kobakhidze concluded.
